For Families.

For Parks.

Our parks and recreation system is a vital part of what makes our community a great place to live, work, and raise a family. As CPRD Director, I am committed to communication and transparency, well maintained and accessible facilities, supporting programs for families, and ensuring our parks remain safe & clean

I fought for Friends park, rallying my neighborhood, because I believe a strong parks & recreation district strengthens community and ensures that these spaces continue to serve families, youth, and our district for years to come. We are truly blessed to have the best parks and recreation district around, and I want my children and yours to enjoy it.

Who is Brandon?

Born and raised in Oregon, I studied multimedia communications at George Fox University, married my high school sweetheart, and returned to Newberg in 2013 to purchase our first home. My career in animation led me to teaching at George Fox, and after becoming a stay-at-home dad, I pursued projects that included engaging in disaster relief in Japan, and launching a Japan travel YouTube channel before founding a nonprofit dedicated to supporting relief efforts and ministry travel in Japan.

Why CPRD?

When a private landowner’s disruptive development threatened our neighborhood park, Friends' Park, cutting trees, endangering our streets, walking path, and privacy, I knew action was needed. Faced with a deal between CPRD and the developer that left neighbors feeling powerless, I appealed the lot line adjustment, rallied fellow residents, and pushed for common-sense solutions. At a decisive December CPRD board meeting, our collective voice halted the adjustment and, in early 2025, led to a vote to buy the land outright, preserving Friend’s Park. Now, as a community, we plan to restore the park, plant new trees, and support CPRD in making it an even better space for everyone. What started as one person willing to fight for our park ended with an entire neighborhood coming together to create real change.

A vision for a stable parks & rec district.

For Families

Our parks and recreation programs should provide safe, clean, and well-maintained spaces where families can gather, kids can play, and our community can stay active. By prioritizing fiscally responsible investments in youth sports, community events, and outdoor recreation, we can strengthen family connections and enhance our quality of life.

Well-maintained and efficient facilities ensure that our parks, trails, and recreation centers remain safe, functional, and accessible for everyone. By focusing on smart maintenance, cost-effective improvements, and long-term planning, we can protect taxpayer investments while keeping our community spaces in top condition.

Neighborhood parks are a cornerstone of a neighborhood, providing space for recreation and connection. By prioritizing responsible management and strategic improvements, we can support these natural spaces while ensuring they remain safe, clean, and enjoyable for generations to come.
